Movie reviews Yes man

This is another funny Jim Carrey movie(can't say I have ever seen one that wasn't intrinsically hilarious in some way).

The plot is of a tired sales man Carl Allen(Jim Carrey), who happens to wander into a feel good seminar where everybody says "Yes" and accepts whatever life throws at them, any questions, any requirements from anyone for anything just say "Yes" to it. The guru of this new age feel good ground is Terence Bundley played by the superb Terence Stamp(General Zod in Superman returns).

Despite Carl's objections he agrees to Terence's advice to just say yes to absolutely everything for a whole year, no matter how ridiculous it may sound, or strange the request, but as cosmic logic goes(especially in the movies), once he has said yes he can't back out. There is a hilariously funny segment that sums Jim Carrey at his most funniest, having to entertain an elderly lady Tillie played by Fionnula Flanagan, who is surprisingly adept, as I am much more familiar with her as the sullen elder Eloise Hawkings in Lost.

Love interest for Carl is provided by Allison played by the lovely Zooey Deschanel(Live Free or Die, something about her seems very familiar, she has that look of familiarity that you have seen her somewhere but can't quite pin it), the meet in a hilarious segment as Allison's rock group are bumbling around making songs as they go along as Carl somehow becomes a fan as opposed to the other solitary fan in the bar. Allison sees Carl's willingness to say yes to everything as a true rebel, and someone to look up to, and the inevitable romance begins.

It has some absolute classic moments especially the scenes with Carl and Tillie which will go down as one of the scenes of the year for rib tickling laughter.

Movie reviews The hangover

This is one of the most extravagant, hilarious and crazy movie you will see all year, that is sure to hit a nerve with many of the audience. It did so well in the box office, a sequel is already being penned.

It stars Bradley Cooper(He's just not that into you) as Phil Wenneck a school teacher, along with Alan Garner(played by Zack Galifianakis, the same deadpan hilarious humor he brought in What happens in Vegas, "Wanna party?" is evident here), who along with Stu Price(played by Ed Helms, Night of the musuem battle of the Smithsonians) a somewhat cowardly individual being controlled by his aggressive fiancee, all plan a stag night for the hapless Doug Billings(played by Justin Bartha, National Treasure).

We join the cast as the make their get away from their normal lives to have a stag night to remember in Las Vegas, soon after we find them all (except the groom) in their hotel room, completely out of it, unable to recollect a single thing, and wondering why a tiger(yes a tiger) is in their bathroom, a naked man is locked in the boot of their car, and there is a baby in their hotel room.

This is one crazy comedy that leaves you trying to figure out what on earth happened the night before just as much as they do, they are cameo appearances from Mike Tyson(yes the Mike Tyson playing himself) as well as the lovable Heather Graham playing Jade, who has quite a night never to forget with the shy Stu Price, put in a difficult situation having to confront his controlling fiancee.

They are some hilarious segments that will have you rolling on the floor laughing, especially the ones including Mr Chow(played by Ken Jeong, Pineapple express).

Movie Reviews reviews He's just not that into you

This is a romantic comedy of interconnecting lives starring Ginnifer Goodwin (Margee from Big love), Jennifer Aniston, Ben Affleck, Justin Long (from Die Hard 4.0), Scarlett Johansson, Jennifer Connelly and Bradley Cooper.
Goodwin plays Gigi Haim, who has just come from a date, where she is misreading every sign, that this could be "the one", despite protests from her friends she insists the date was really into her, and tries to find him. In the process she happens to meet Bar Steward Alex(Justin Long) who enlightens her on what guys really mean by their behaviors during a date.
Alex on the other hand has his own problems committing to a relationship. Ginnifer happens to work with Beth Bartlett(Jennifer Aniston) who is reaching the end of her tethers after seven years with her current boyfriend(Ben Affleck)and his lack of commitment; and Janine Gunders(Jennifer Connelly) who may have rushed her husband (Bradley Cooper) into marriage, he happens to stumble into Anna Taylor (Scarlett Johansson), who is keen exploring their "friendship" regardless of his straightforward proclamation of his marriage. Their friendship leads to him having to decide if he believes on a chance meeting or be true to his overbearing wife.
Anna is currently in an on off relationship with Conor Barry(Kevin Connolly) an estate salesman, who is trying his best to win her heart, while Mary Harris(Draw Barrymore) is into the world of online dating.

There are superb performances notably from Justin Long, and Ginnifer Godwin. Goodwin steals the show in almost every scene, her chirpy smile, and vivacious attitude lights up the screen, her infectious attitude definately grows on you.
It is a nice warm romantic comedy that is sure to tickle the fancy of all with a romantic inclination, with some drama we can all identify with.
